Raw treats
Well, it’s Friday night. I’m home, comfortable, and enjoying my return to raw food. Today I ate about 95% raw. I finished up the slice of rye bread my daughter failed to eat, and then accepted a forkful of her pasta at lunch. But otherwise, I’ve had a raw-tastic day. The sprouted wheat “Essene” bread worked out quite nicely. I should have mashed the wheat berries up more, as they have remained a bit chewy. But I did want to leave some whole grains, both for texture and appearance. Next time, mash more.

I am also lucky enough to have a nascent chocolatier for a partner. I got inspired by Shazzie and Suki, bought the ingredients then left him to create. He’s come up with a roaring recipe, full of goodness like bee pollen, goji berries, cinnamon and chilli. I have to resist eating more than one at a time, as they are so rich they knock your socks off. Yum yum!
